【摘要】:1.1Thisspecificationcoversmaterial,geometric,andwallsectionpropertiesofsteelboxculvertsmanufacturedfromcorrugatedplateorsheet,withorwithoutattachedstiffeners,forfieldassembly.Appropriatefastenersandoptionalmaterialssuchassteelinvertplatesandheadwallsarealsodescribed.Applicationsforsteelboxculvertsincludeconduitsforgravityflowdrainageofsurfacewatersuchasculvertsandstormdrains,aswellasforsmallbridgesandgradeseparationstructuressuchaspedestrianorvehicularunderpasses,andutilitytunnels.1.2Thisspecificationdoesnotincluderequirementsforfoundations,backfill,ortherelationshipbetweenearthcoverorliveloadsandstrengthrequirements.TheseimportantdesignconsiderationsaredescribedintheAASHTOLRFDBridgeDesignSpecifications,CustomaryU.S.Units(LRFD)BridgeDesignSpecifications,SIUnits).1.3Thisspecificationdoesnotincluderequirementsforthehydraulicdesignofthesestructures.Hydraulicdesign,placementoffootingsorinverts,andendtreatmentstoresistscouraredescribedinFHWAHDSNo.5.1.4AppendixX1listsnominaldimensionsofboxculvertsizescommonlyavailable.Alsolistedarecross-sectionalareaandhydraulicdesignparametersforthesesizes.1.5AppendixX2listsmanufacturers''suggesteddesignpropertiesfortheboxculverttypesdescribedinthisspecification,andforthespacingclassesandmaterialthicknessestypicallyavailable.1.6Thevaluesstatedineitherinch-poundunitsorSIunitsaretoberegardedseparatelyasstandard.Withinthetext,theSIunitsareshowninbrackets.Thevaluesstatedineachsystemarenotexactequivalents;therefore,eachsystemshallbeusedindependentlyoftheother.Combiningvaluesfromthetwosystemsmayresultinnonconformancewiththespecification.
