【摘要】:Seamstrengthtestingisusedfordesignvalidationandforlotacceptance.Thistestmethodconstitutestheconditions,procedures,andequipmentbywhichinflatablerestraintsaretestedforseamstrengthandseamefficiency.Itisintendedtobeusedasaguidelineinestablishingawrittenpartspecificationorprint.Thespecificationoragreementofpurchaserandsuppliermaydeviatefromtheproceduresdescribedhereinwhen(basedonexperience)considerationsofequipment,cushiondesign,orotherfactorsdictateotherwise.Incasesofdisputearisingfromdifferencesinreportedtestresultswhenusingthistestmethodforacceptancetestingofcommercialshipments,thepurchaserandthesuppliershouldperformcomparativeteststodetermineifthereisastatisticalbiasbetweentheirlaboratories.Competentstatisticalassistanceisrecommendedfortheinvestigationofbias.Asaminimum,thetwopartiesshouldtakeagroupoftestspecimensfromthesamelotoffabrictobeevaluated,whichutilizealikeseamassembly(orstandardseamassembly)toachieveseaminteraction.Thetestspecimensshouldthenberandomlyassignedinequalnumberstoeachlaboratoryfortesting.Ifabiasisfound,eitheritscausemustbedeterminedandcorrected,orthepurchaserandsuppliermustagreetointerpretfuturetestresultsinlightoftheknownbias.TestMethodD5822isareliabletestmethodbutprocedureswhichmayrequirespecialattentionareidentifiedintheprecisionandbiassectionofthistestmethod.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthemeasurementofseamefficiencyandthemaximumseamstrengthininflatablerestraintcushionscomposedofwovenfabricswhenaforceisappliedperpendiculartotheseam,usingagrabtest.Forevaluatingsewingthread,refertoTestMethodD204.1.2Thistestmethodisrestrictedtoseamsthatareobtainedfromaninflatablerestraintcushion.Seamsmayincludebutarenotlimitedtosewn,OPW,glued,fused(chemicallyorthermally).1.3Thistestmethodisusedwhenthemeasurementofaresistancetoaspecifiedforce,abreakingforce,aminimumelongation,oracombinationthereofarerequiredtodeterminetheseamstrength,orseamintegrityofaparticularfabricforinflatablerestraintuse.1.4Proceduresandapparatusotherthanthosestatedinthisstandardmaybeusedbyagreementbetweenpurchaserandsupplierwiththespecificdeviationsfromthestandardacknowledgedinthereport.1.5ThevaluesstatedineitherSIunitsorinch-poundunitsaretoberegardedseparatelyasstandard.Thevaluesstatedineachsystemarenotexactequivalents;therefore,eachsystemmustbeusedindependentlyoftheother.1.6Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
