【摘要】:Thispracticeisespeciallyusefulforevaluatingtheadequacyofquenchingwhenperformedonmaterialintheas-quenchedcondition.Thepracticemayalsobeusedtostudytheeffectofsubsequentthermalprocesses(forexample,paintorbondingcures)orofactualprecipitationtreatmentsontheinherenttypeofcorrosion.Intergranularcorrosionresistanceofheattreatablealuminumalloysisoftendirectlyrelatedtothequenchingconditionsappliedaftersolutionheattreatmentandtothesubsequentagingtreatment.6Thispracticeisnotwellsuitedfornon-heattreatableworkhardeningaluminumalloys,suchasthe1XXX,3XXX,and5XXXseries(seeTestMethodG67).Thispracticedoesnotdealwiththeinterpretationofresultingintergranularcorrosion.Thesignificanceoftheextentanddepthofanyintergranularcorrosionresultingfromthistestistobeagreeduponbetweenproduceranduser.1.1Thispracticecoverstheproceduresforimmersiontestsinsodiumchloride+hydrogenperoxidesolution.Itisprimarilyfortestsofwroughtheattreatablealuminumalloys(2XXXand7XXX)butmaybeusedforotheraluminumalloys,includingcastings.Itsetsforththespecimenpreparationproceduresandtheenvironmentalconditionsofthetestandthemeansforcontrollingthem.1.2Thispracticeisintendedforevaluationsduringalloydevelopmentandforevaluatingproductionwhereitmayserveasacontroltestonthequalityofsuccessivelotsofthesamematerial(seeMIL-H-6088andU.S.FederalTestMethodStd.151b).Thereforestricttestconditionsarestipulatedformaximumassurancethatvariationsinresultsareattributabletolot-to-lotdifferencesinthematerialbeingtested.Note18212;Thispracticedoesnotaddresssamplingorinterpretationorsignificanceofresults.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
